Learning, creating, music & life.
I love to learn & share what I learn on personal growth, communication, creative expression and how to help people to be better leaders and be better humans. I especially love when I can get someone to see something in a new light. I also love it when someone can get me to see something in a new light.
I specialize in leadership, management and communications skills development. I have a strong instructional design and facilitation background which includes expertise in e-learning and virtual classrooms. I have experience working in the travel, retail, engineering and music industries.
I love to create. I write songs. I play bass, guitar piano and drums. I write, draw, paint, take pictures and make videos.
I also love to travel and am fortunate that I’ve been able to find jobs that allow me to see the world. I feel blessed that I get to do the things that I love on a daily basis.
Currently, I’ve been fascinated with finding the most effective ways on how to teach people to be more creative, passionate, compassionate and inspired. For me, it’s all about making real connections with people and making a positive difference through my words, my music, and my actions.
WHAT I’M DOING NOW
Thanks to Derek Sivers for the idea of creating a“now section” on this page
What I’m reading:
- Tribe of Mentors Short Life Advice From The Best In The World and Tools of Titans, The Tactics, Routines and Habits of Billionaires, Icons and World Class Performers by Tim Ferris I’m also a regular listener of his podcast
- The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer This book is blowing my mind.
What I’m learning:

What I’m also learning:

Learning how to solve the Rubik’s cube has been on my bucket list since high school. After my initial obsession of just learning how to solve it, now I’m working on my speed. My average time is 2.30 mins to 3:30 mins. Best time is 1:55 mins. Any advice on increasing my speed is appreciated!
By the way, learning the cube is not a genius thing. I learned all the moves in 3 days from the official Rubik’s cube website, some YouTube videos and advice from my friend Udai. It’s just a matter of memorization of moves and the speed comes from technique and repetition. Currently I’ve been working on my speed for about 5 mins a night right before I go to bed.
Quote I’ve been pondering lately:
“I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better.”
― Maya Angelou
Another quote I’ve been pondering lately:
“Context is key.” I don’t know who this one can be attributed to but has this ever been a major lesson for me lately!
Quote I ponder often. Lately I’ve been pondering the bolded sentences:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? … Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. … It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” — Marianne Williamson
Where I’m volunteering:
Girls Rock Camp Toronto.
I teach bass and guitar and coach bands of 8 – 16 year old girls. It’s all about building self esteem through the creation of music. I also volunteer to teach at their Rock Camp for Grown Ups program which is designed for adult women, trans, and gender non-binary people 19 and older.
I also facilitate their volunteer training which includes topics such as conflict resolution and diversity & inclusion.
Being a part of Girls Rock Camp for the last few years has been such a rewarding experience for me because I get to combine my two passions: teaching and music. And I’ve also seen how this program has made such a positive impact in so many people’s lives.
